Peru, the first of many

THE FIRST POST..Here we go.
This blog is to remember and record the travels I've made and how exploring the world has become a huge passion of mine.
The place that started it all PERU!
My sophomore year of High School I had the marvelous opportunity to go on a Humanitarian trip to Cusco, Peru. Our mission was to work in orphanages teach simple lessons of random fun things like, astronomy, hair and makeup, english, and math. http://www.unitedplanet.org/ What we came to find is that the best part for us and for the girls was when we just got to play with them.

The Crew

Melinda and Me. I couldn't help but cry when we left, she reminded me so much of my sister Mollie

Even my dad got to come as a host, and of course he loved going back to the country where he served his mission

I still think about this trip and the huge impact that these girls had on me. The thing they wanted the most from us was hugs. Though we took a long time to prepare lessons and activities the greatest thing we could give them was love.
